Competition terms and conditions

Product Prizes and GBHS Awards Competition.

1. The promoter is: Ltd (company no 08489251) whose registered office is at Onega House, 112 Main Road, Sidcup, Kent, DA14 6NE

2. Ltd is a silver sponsor of the Great British High Street. 

3.. The competition is open to residents of the United Kingdom aged 18 years or over except employees of and their close relatives and anyone otherwise connected with the organisation, Great British High Street or judging of the competition.

4. There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this competition.

5. By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.

6. Route to entry for the competition and details of how to enter will be listed in the competition post on and you can also contact for guidance when entering. 

7. Only one entry will be accepted per person. Multiple entries from the same person will be disqualified.

8. No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason.

9. The rules of the competition and how to enter are as follows:

A. Like the DYHS Facebook page AND @thegbhighst Facebook page.

B. Name your local high street in the comment section below.

C. Optional: Entrants can also ‘Like’ the post to grow the prize based on how many ‘likes’ it receives; likes increase the prize pool as such:

0 - 100 likes = £50

101 - 250 likes = £100

251 - 500 likes = £150

501 - 1000 likes = £200

1001+ likes = £250

10. The promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice in the event of a catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, act of God or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other event outside of the promoter’s control. Any changes to the competition will be notified to entrants as soon as possible by the promoter.

11. The promoter is not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party connected with this competition.

12. The prize is as follows: Digital voucher to be spent only on A minimum of £50 and a maximum £250. This value of the prize grows from the amount of 'Likes' the post receives, as per point 9 states. 

13. The prize is as stated and no cash or other alternatives will be offered. The prizes are not transferable. Prizes are subject to availability and we reserve the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.

14. Winners will be chosen at random by software on the 17th of September. 

15. The winner will announced publicly via Facebook and will also be notified by email and/or DM on Twitter/Facebook within 28 days of the closing date (16/09/2018). If the winner cannot be contacted or do not claim the prize within 14 days of notification, we reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and pick a replacement winner.

16. The promoter will notify the winner when and where the prize can be collected / is delivered.

17. The promoter’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.

18. By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.

19. The competition and these terms and conditions will be governed by English law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England.

20. The winner agrees to the use of his/her name and image in any publicity material, as well as their entry. Any personal data relating to the winner or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current UK data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent.

23. shall have the right, at its sole discretion and at any time, to change or modify these terms and conditions, such change shall be effective immediately upon posting to this webpage.

25. Visa is a sponsor of the Great British High Street campaign and is not in any way responsible or liable in connection with this competition or for any claim in relation to this competition.

26. The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government is not responsible or liable in connection with this DYHS competition or for any claim in relation to this DYHS competition.

27. Winners of all DYHS competitions must respond in a timely manner so that all participants are treated fairly. This is on a case by case scenario but prizes should be claimed within 30 days of first announcement. If a good reasons is given there may be extensions for the claimant. 

Newsletter competition. 

27a. Entrants subscribe to the newsletter in order to enter the competition.

27b. Winners are announced within the newsletter every other edition. 

27c. The prize is £50 worth of vouchers. Vouchers have to be spent on and can not be exchanged. In some cases DYHS may choose to change the prize and will make entrants aware when subscribing. 

27d. Winners are picked at random from the newsletter subscriber list. The same entrant can win multiple times as the winner is randomly selected from the list each time. 

27e. If the prize includes a donation to a charity, the donation will be paid by DYHS and the charity will know that the entrant chose them.
